On 14 October, representatives of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) had a meeting with travel agents in the Central to discuss the solutions to attract Thai visitors and establish clubs to welcome Thai visitors through the border gate.
To implement “ the program of 1 million tourist visitors between Vietnam and Thailand in 2015”, Vietnam Central is regarded as the region full of potential and advantages to welcome Thailand.
After studying carefully solutions and working with their enterprises, the VNAT proposed TAT to cooperate to tightly manage the tourist operation bordering with Vietnam.
At the meeting, on 14 October, enterprises welcoming Thai visitors in Central through the rules, regulations to establish clubs of travel agents through the border gate. Currently, there are 22 travel agents registering to participate in the clubs. In which, enterprises agreed to build up suitable products for Thai visitors, reasonable prices, and giving the average prize, supervising to implement….. the welcoming of Thai visitors through the border gates of Central provinces. The companies participating in the clubs but not implementing right the commitment will be punished by the groups of clubs.
Enterprises also make a petition to the VNAT to support in enhancing service qualities of travel agents to welcome Thai visitor, presenting to sell visitors among companies, punishing illegal companies , borrowing legal status, tourist guides without cards, selling tours at dumping prices.
As schedule, after agreeing the operation contents of companies with the relevant agencies, at the end 10, 2010, the clubs will put into operation.
