Ho Chi Minh City makes the plan to develop Tourism in 2011


Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Ho Chi Minh City has a meeting to discuss the tourism development plan to in 2011
In 2010, the implementation situation of the basic targets of the tourism industry in Ho Chi Minh City is estimated as follows: Total number of international visitors to the city is approximated to reach 3.1 millions arrivals, up 20% over the same period and reaches 111 % of the plan in 2010 (as planned: 2.8 million arrivals). The total tourism revenue is estimated at 41,000 billion, up 17% over the same period and reaches 103% of the plan in 2010.
In 2011, the tourism industry in Ho Chi Minh City strives to achieve the following targets: the number of international visitors to the city reaches 3.5 million arrivals, up 11% compared to 2010. Total industry revenue reaches 49,000 billion, up 20% compared to 2010.
Accordingly, the key tasks of the city's tourism in 2011 are defined as: to continue launching the campaign to raise product quality and tourism services in the city area by means of selecting and praising the tourist industry’s top service in Ho Chi Minh City to introduce and advertise extensively with domestic and foreign tourists. At the same time, it helps maintaining and improving the quality of existing tourism products and gradually developing new products and tour; enhancing the tourism promotion, introducing the image of city destination by means of many communication channels (media, diplomatic corps, aviation); participating actively in the activities of the International Tourism Organization that focus on the Tourism Promotion Organization of Pacific Asia cities; improving the quality of cultural and tourism events held periodically in which is the event of the International Tourism Exhibition (ITE) in 2011 agreed by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism as the national events since 2009; deploying well the propaganda, disseminating the Law in tourism for the concerned Departments, the People's Committee of 24 districts; actively carrying out the cooperation mechanism in the tourism post-inspection according to guides, facilitating for enterprises to operate within the law; gradually implementing the decentralization of tourism post-inspection for the district; concentrating on deploying the training and retraining the human resources in order to equip the knowledge and skills towards standardizing the human resources of the tourism industry.
